515 Operative Documentation Audit of General Surgery

Abstract Introduction Documentation is an important part of healthcare practitioners’ daily routine. The importance documentation well stress in the literature and by GMC's good medical practice. Good ensures patients receive best possible clinical care. Recently, Royal College Surgeons (RCS) published guidance aiming to improve reported poor quality operative documentation. Method RCS notes guidelines were used as audit criteria. These consisted 19 domains adherence general surgery department each these was measured. A 100% set standard. Data collected during a period four weeks from General Surgery under care random range consultant surgeons. Results 50 between 13/10/21 04/11/2021 analysed. 47% stated had adherence. In addition, only 4% patients’ all specified RCS. Conclusion Current does not meet standards this audit. However, areas improvement are identified bring current practice closer guidance.
